Passing of our friend, coach, and devoted volunteer, Jon Farmer.

Hello HP Thunder Family,

It’s with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear friend, coach, and devoted volunteer, Jon Farmer. We lost a true champion who inspired us both on, and off the ice.

Jon dedicated more than 13 years to our HP Thunder players and the sport he loved so deeply. His commitment touched every level of our program, coaching teams from Squirts and Pee Wees to Bantam and Midget. Jon’s influence extended far beyond the scoreboard; he shaped the lives of every player who had the privilege of learning from him, and created memories that will last a lifetime.

Under Jon’s leadership, our teams captured seven Valley League Championships, bringing home well-earned victories across every age group and competitive level—from Single A all the way to Triple AAA. His drive for excellence never wavered, whether he was calling plays from behind the bench or serving as a board member for two years. No matter the role, Jon always gave more of himself than anyone could have asked. Jon’s commitment to youth sports also extended far beyond our Thunder program. He generously gave his time and expertise to coaching youth baseball, basketball, and other sports, helping lead teams to multiple championships while making a lasting impact on the lives of countless young athletes.

Jon’s unwavering dedication to our players, and this program made a lasting impact on our community. His absence leaves a void that will be felt by all of us, but his legacy of kindness, commitment, and passion will continue to inspire HP Thunder for years to come.

Rest easy, Coach.
